Sharp Corporation exhibited
the FOMA SH706iw mobile phone developed for NTT DoCoMo at CEATEC JAPAN 2008,
which was held at the Makuhari Messe convention center. The SH706iw was developed
to support health management and improve dietary habits by connecting with a
health support website and is already being dubbed the "Wellness Mobile
Phone". The new phone, which has become a hot topic, was newly launched
in September 2008. Other features include a pedometer, a pulse monitor, and
other functions that assist in health management without affecting cell phone
operations. The FOMA SH706iw is also compatible with 1Seg broadcasting.
